SIM card or Wi‑Fi?
A SIM is not mandatory—permanent Wi‑Fi at the pitch, at home or in a storage hall is fine as long as the alarm phone stays online.
- Alarm emails, daily status and email remote control need internet.
- Without Wi‑Fi (winter storage, pitch, allotment): a cheap prepaid data SIM is recommended.
- Roaming: check your plan abroad—no network means no delivery.
How much mobile data?
CampSecure™ sends status emails, alerts and photos on alarm—no video streaming.
| Usage | Data per month |
|---|---|
| Normal (status mail + rare alarms) | about 50–200 MB |
| Many test emails or alarm photos | about 500 MB – 1 GB |
| Recommendation for most users | 1 GB prepaid plan is enough |
Power supply for the alarm phone
Continuous power (recommended)
- USB/USB-C charger at mains or 12 V USB outlet
- Leisure battery / shore power in motorhome or caravan
- Deep-discharge protection for long storage periods
Power bank (limited time)
10,000–30,000 mAh lasts for a limited time depending on phone and battery health—OK for weekends, not ideal for months in winter storage.
Solar (with storage only)
Foldable panel at the window, on the roof or at the pitch—sensible only with a power bank or leisure battery as buffer.
What happens when the battery is low?
CampSecure™ does not detect power outages. When the battery is low, the app sends a warning email (threshold 5–50 %, default 30 %).
For reliable continuous operation, keep the alarm phone plugged in. Battery care tips: old phone guide.
Mounting (brief)
Mount opposite the door or with a good interior view—firm on suction cup, magnetic, adhesive or tripod mount. Check the camera view before arming. More: FAQ on the homepage.
