How we calculate: Classic = purchase + fitting + optional modules (one-time) + annual maintenance/inspection × period of use. CampSecure™ = €3.99 per month × period of use, optionally one-time for an Android phone (approx. €50). Mobile data costs are not included on either side, as both CampSecure™ and many classic GSM alarm systems need a data or SIM card. The CampSecure™ subscription (€3.99/month) does not include data volume.
The maintenance value (default €50/year) is a guide for the annual inspection of classic systems and can be adjusted. Other costs (e.g. more expensive service contracts) are not included.

Yes. CampSecure™ is built for motorhomes, caravans and similar uses. Your phone becomes a smart alarm with motion detection, GPS and notifications.
For reliable monitoring and long battery life, close or uninstall apps you do not need—especially battery savers, task killers, optimisers and heavy background apps. They can increase drain or stop CampSecure™ from running in the background.
No. CampSecure™ runs on Android 10 or newer only (at least 3 GB RAM). iPhone and iOS are not supported—persistent alarm and sensor functions are not reliably possible on iOS. Alternative: an affordable Android phone (e.g. used Pixel 3 or Samsung A-series).
At least Android 10, at least 3 GB RAM. Official reference devices: Google Pixel 3–9, Samsung Galaxy A and S series, Redmi, Motorola G series, Poco, Nokia (see our user guide). Used devices often EUR 30–80, under EUR 100 is realistic. The in-app device check verifies compatibility. More tips: Old phone as alarm.
A SIM is not mandatory—permanent Wi‑Fi works if available on site. Alarm emails, daily status and email remote control need internet. Without Wi‑Fi (winter storage, pitch), a cheap prepaid data SIM is recommended. More: Power & SIM guide.
CampSecure™ sends status emails, alerts and photos when an alarm triggers. Normal use often needs 50–200 MB per month. If you send many test emails or alarm images, plan 500 MB to 1 GB. For most users a cheap 1 GB plan is enough.
Opposite the door or with a good view of the interior—firm and vibration-safe (suction cup, magnetic, adhesive or tripod mount). The main camera should cover the entry and room. Visible mounting deters; hidden mounting is harder to find. Check the camera view before arming.
CampSecure™ does not detect power outages. When the battery is low, the app sends a warning email (threshold configurable, default 30%). For long stays we recommend continuous power via USB charger, onboard battery or shore power—optionally with a power bank or solar plus storage. Details: Power & SIM guide.
There is no test alarm. Use send test email in the app email settings to verify SMTP and delivery. Test sensors only by arming briefly (caution: a real alarm may trigger). Details: user guide chapter 5.
CampSecure™ responds in stages: first an unfriendly voice announcement, then an alarm tone – each with warning light (torch). Only then follow photo and email. Details: user guide chapter 4.
Between 10 pm and 6 am night mode runs automatically: audio detection is slightly more sensitive and the warning light is active during voice announcement and alarm tone. There is no switch – it happens by time.
No. Voice announcement and alarm tone are fixed stages in the alarm flow – deliberately to deter before the photo. You can adjust overall sensitivity for motion and audio in settings.
Yes. In winter storage, continuous power and optionally a SIM matter; in house mode (motion 0) the app still reacts to sound. On a boat, email delivery depends on coverage at the berth. In an allotment shed or garden house, house mode with audio monitoring works well—check power and network on site.
