Starting on Thursday, October 1, 2026, the Caravan Live in Freiburg will open its doors. From 10 AM to 6 PM daily until Sunday, the event will focus on RVs, caravans, campervans, accessories, DIY builds, and travel.
According to the organizers, around 150 exhibitors and over 60 vehicle brands are expected. The fair will span halls 1 to 4, the foyer, the exhibition boulevard, and the outdoor area. For details on exhibition areas, lectures, and travel information, see the overview of the program, tickets, and prices.
If you’re planning to attend, keep an eye on your calendar: the discounted advance ticket sale ends on Wednesday, September 30, at 11:59 PM.
More Space for DIY Builders
This year, the Van World section has been significantly expanded, catering primarily to visitors who want to build their own camper, retrofit existing vehicles, or seek custom solutions.
Alongside specialized exhibitors, there’s a dedicated stage and practical demonstrations on all four days. Live vehicle builds will take place on the action area, accompanied by lectures on insulation, lightweight materials, heating systems, camper beds, and various DIY solutions.
Safety can also be integrated into a DIY build without installing a fixed alarm system. The CampSecure Alarm App uses an existing Android smartphone to monitor movements, sounds, and the vehicle’s location.
E-Mobility & Travel Introduced in 2026
New this year is the E-Mobility & Travel section in Hall 3, focusing on electric mobility for travel and leisure.
Relevant lectures include discussions on experiences with electric camping in Europe on Friday and trips with small electric vehicles and e-campervans to the Sahara on Saturday. This topic is gaining importance for RVs, campervans, and camping in general.
Caravan Owners Get Practical Sessions
Caravan owners will find several highly specific sessions in the program.
The ADAC offers multiple talks on proper weight distribution, caravan weighing, and the dangers of caravan sway. The first lecture takes place on Thursday at 12:30 PM, with additional sessions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Other ADAC presentations cover suitable tires for campers, as well as fire extinguishers and fire safety.
This makes the fair appealing not just for those looking to buy a new vehicle, but also for owners of existing caravans or RVs seeking information on technology and safety.
From Beginner Camping to Travel to the North Cape
On the stage in Hall 3, technical topics alternate with travel reports and discussion panels.
Multiple sessions on camping for beginners are scheduled. Travel lectures include destinations like Norway, Finland, and the North Cape. There are also Camper Talks featuring key figures from the camping community.
On Saturday, Van World will explore how travel experiences differ between a minimalist van and a more comfortably equipped caravan.
On Sunday, a workshop on heating systems is planned. Since times may change at short notice, it’s recommended to check the updated online program before visiting.
Overnight on the Fairground with Caravan or RV
If you’re not just visiting for a day, you can stay right at the fairground.
The Camping Area is designated for RVs and caravans, with an additional space for tents. According to the organizers, no reservations are required for the parking spots.
Overnight costs are 7 euros per person per night, plus a 5 euro parking fee per vehicle per day. Fair entry is not included.
On-site facilities include showers, a central water connection, and options for gray and chemical toilet disposal.
Important note: No electrical hookups are available on the Camping Area.
A breakfast service with rolls is offered between 8 and 9:30 AM. Quiet hours start at 10:30 PM.
Camper Night on Friday Evening
If you’re staying overnight, you’ll also get an additional evening program on Friday.
From 6 to 10 PM, the Camper Night will take place in the Community Area of the visitor camping. Live music and a shared evening on-site are planned.
This makes it easy to combine your fair visit with a short camping trip in Freiburg.

Four Days for RVs, Caravans, and Campers
The Caravan Live has evolved far beyond a simple vehicle exhibition. Alongside new RVs and caravans, accessories, technology, travel, and DIY builds are now central themes.
The combination of vehicles, Van World, technical lectures, and overnight options makes Freiburg appealing even for those who don’t plan to buy a new vehicle.
The fair opens on Thursday, October 1, at 10 AM and closes on Sunday, October 4, at 6 PM.
